My personal tribute to EVH This EVH clone was a 1978 Fender Stratocaster 3 tone brown burst, another wonderful birthday gift from mom. Upon the April 80 issue of Guitar Player magazine, I proceed to take out dad's router and dumped the pickup from my Les Paul into this guitar. This is the guitar that functioned as my main axe for many years. It had a Floyd Rose copy on it and it has been through many phases of paint jobs...eventually, I decided to make it into an EVH for my personal amusement. It doesn't play as well compared to 20 years ago...but I still practice on it. Good buddy Dale Wilson from Rickenbacker/Fender did a scallop job for the neck, the original Strat neck is replaced with a Tele neck...they feel the same. The current trem system is a Kahler Spyder pieced together from left over parts I obtained during one of my visits to the Kahler warehouse. |
